A disc 28 cm across and 3 to 6 cm thick, its surfaces and edges slightly rounded, holds two light engines: 96 LEDs pointing down and 128 pointing up, each dimmed on its own. Raster optics keep the glare out of the room and leave a pattern of concentric squares on the horizontal faces of the disc; the rings engraved around them carry the heat away. The shape is simple enough to allow the whole family — floor, table, suspension and wall — and plain enough to sit in almost any room.
